Question Your FAQ mentions an antistatic spray for carpets. I looked in the products list and found a number of products but none seemed to match the description. To keep things simple, which product do I need to control static in for the carpet in my home office. It has already zapped equipment (mouse, electronic light switch, reset the PC) so I'm desperate. - Anonymous, Cambridge, MA
Answer This will be a new product for us in our summer 1999 catalog. You can make this product using a spray bottle, our Statproof® floor finish and water. Mix 1:1 part floor finish with water in the spray bottle and then apply to the floor. Probably want to vacuum the carpet first. We recommend at least 3 coats in a well ventilated area. You will want to wait about 45 minutes between coats and try not to have any traffic on the carpet during the drying process. The carpet fibers need absorb enough of the dissipative polymer (spray) to be effective. Test and re-apply as needed.
